The Yoga Teachers Association of Houston is a non-for-profit group, comprised of area Yoga Instructors working together to provide themselves and the community with opportunities to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually through the application of yoga principles and practices.

We maintain the only locally administered yoga directory in the Greater Houston Area. Our web site is top quality and updates are made frequently. Content is focused on hatha yoga to maintain clarity on the site.

The goals of The Yoga Teachers Association of Houston are

• Provides a locally administered Internet yoga directory for the Greater Houston area.
• Lists up-to-date website calendar yoga events.
• Posts job openings from potential employees, requests for substitutes, and other communications deemed appropriate by the Board to the members.
• Fosters networking opportunities for yoga teachers and students.
• Sponsors educational and social events for yoga teacher’s and/ or the public.
• Provides educational information for teacher’s and/ or the general public.
• Fosters a social community for yoga teachers.
• Provides seminars for yoga instructors, which can be used towards Yoga Alliance continuing education requirements.
• Provides an informational newsletter to membership.

Our hope is that this site enriches the yoga community in Houston and beyond.

Become a member in two easy steps.

Members are entitled to:

• A Profile Page with a photo and links to their web site, email address and/or phone number.
• List their yoga events on our main calendar and on their Profile Page. Submit calendar items using this form.
• Submit articles or have their students submit articles for our newsletter.
• Eligible to participate in YTAH events such as the Free Day of Yoga.
• Receive notices of job opportunities.
• They can canvas the membership or approach individual members for substitute teachers or advice on a yoga question.
• Receive monthly summaries of upcoming events that they can investigate further through our calendar.

Teachers with studios are encouraged to purchase a Studio Membership. Studio Memberships receive added visibility allowing visitors to search for your studio in our directory, read a brief advertisement, and click on a direct link to your web site.

The dues for Studio Memberships are $50 per year, which includes the $35 Teaching Membership fee. Teachers will have the option to upgrade to a Studio Membership. With all memberships there is no obligation and you may cancel at any time.
