Marita Anopol, internationally renowned yoga teacher was healed through yoga in 1977. Marita knew then that this was her calling and received her teaching certification in 1978.
A New York transplant, she is an adjunct professor at Lone Star College - Kingwood, where she designed and instituted the yoga curriculum for the Kinesiology Department.
Owner and Director for KINGWOOD YOGA ACADEMY , she created and teaches the accredited Yoga for
Classroom Management and conducts yoga teacher training certification nationwide. In addition, she conducts Corporate Wellness Retreats on and off site.
The founder of YOGA 4 KIDS since 1995, she was featured in TIME magazine and cited as a pioneer of yoga for young people. She invented YOGA 4 KIDS IN THE RAIN FOREST a fun, healthy, interactive board game for the entire family. Praised by the KPRC Channel 2 News team, her mission is to incorporate yoga into the public school curriculum on a national level and has been working with Educators, Therapists, Parents and Yoga Teachers since 2005.
The founder of YOGA for CORPORATE AMERICA, since 1997, Marita introduced yoga to executives at Sony, IBM, Prudential, Allied Signal and Honeywell. Next, she redefined yoga as solutions for ailments and authored the YOGAFIX library. She has brought yoga to studios, the office, schools, camps, clubs, senior centers, hospitals and the home. She has helped many who suffer from chronic back pain, asthma, anxiety, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, cancer, Cerebral Palsy, depression, fibromyalgia, insomnia, lupus, lymphadema, MS, menopause, sciatica, scoliosis and sports injuries. An Ambassador to Texas yoga teachers, and a member of The Iyengar Yoga Institute of Greater New York, Marita maintains a daily yoga practice and continues to study with an array of teachers globally.
