Asha's Yoga journey began many years ago in Hyderabad, India under the guidance of her Guru Sri Venkateswara Rao who taught her in the most meaningful and simple way and told her, "Yoga is for everyone, anyone who has the desire to improve their physical, mental and emotional health can practice Yoga irrespective of their life's challenges." She continues to study and learn from many Saints and gurus from India and in Asha's own words she says, "Teaching and helping people through Yoga has been my reward."
For the past year Asha has worked for the Greater Lewisville Family YMCA. The value of her personal instruction goes beyond simple acknowledgement. She delivers classes that are not only filled with her knowledge of the mechanics of instruction but also the personal warmth of someone who cares if you succeed with your goals. She is concerned not only with your physical goals but she takes time to include, mind, body and spirit. ~L. Smith, Wellness Coordinator

3/11/09 This letter is in reference to Asha Devarakonda whom is both a professional and personal acquaintance. I had the pleasure of meeting Asha on a professional level one year ago. Asha provided me private and group yoga instruction. Additionally Asha provided me nutritional guidance that included educational, practical and hands on cooking lessons. Asha is a very personable and gifted individual that I recommend for any endeavor that she may pursue. Asha is ethical, dependable, dedicated and creative. Asha is a happy individual that works well with everyone as she approaches everything in life with loving kindness and respect. ~Paula S. Morrow,LBSW
I get a real taste of India in Asha's yoga classes. This may sound like a paradox but her classes are as gentle as they are challenging! This is truly yoga for the masses! You will not find many yoga teachers as qualified as Asha. Not only do you get great instruction on the physical aspsects of the practice, but she is highly knowledgable in all aspects of Yoga from healthy cooking to chanting and Sanskrit. I highly recommend a private cooking lesson with Asha. Her devotion to her students shines whether it's yoga, cooking or other studies! ~ Ricky Tran, Dallas Yoga Instructor and lululemon ambassador
